RAILCATS ANNOUNCE ROSTER CHANGES

Gary, Ind.—The Gary SouthShore RailCats Professional Baseball Club announced the following roster changes today:

• Outfielder Bernard Caston and first baseman Jarrod Patterson have been placed on irrevocable waivers. Patterson has declared his intention to retire.

• Pitcher Pete Sikaras has been placed on the inactive list.

• Pitcher Matt Petrusek has been acquired from Schaumburg in exchange for future considerations. Petrusek spent last season with Sioux Falls of the American Association, going 2-3, 5.05 in 30 games. He spent the 2004 and '05 seasons with Joliet.

The RailCats now have 25 players on their spring training roster plus two non-roster players. The club must trim its roster to 22 players by noon on Wednesday.
