Fourth Annual Salute Inc. 5K & 10K Run & 5K Walk

in Arlington Heights on May 26^th at 8 AM

Salute, Inc. is a local non-profit organization founded to assist and support military members and their families. Along with our Gold Level Sponsors, Arlington Park Racetrack, Runners High ‘n Tri, and Royal Die & Stamping Co., we are excited to kick-off our event with the following announcements:

- We are running this year’s race in memory of Will Newgard, an Arlington Heights resident who died in Iraq in December 2006;

- Eric Edmundson a severely wounded Iraq veteran, and his father Ed Edmundson will be joining us as will the Chicago Fire’s Diego Gutierrez, CEO Dr. Joanne C. Smith from Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago(RIC), and several others will push Eric along the 5k walk portion of our race;

- Event commences on May 26^th at 8am, at 1100 E. Miner Street, Arlington Heights, Illinois. Race fees are $25 before race day and $30 on race day; Trophies and Medals given for each applicable age category;

- Packet pickup will take place at Runners High ‘n Tri at 121 West Campbell from May 21^st to May 24^th, then outside Miner School(1100 East Miner Street) on Friday, May 25^th from 5:30-7:30 pm and on race day, May 26^th from 6:30-7:30 am;

- Proceeds from the race will be directed to veterans and their families in need, SALUTE’s new laptop program for wounded veterans; and the SALUTE Forgotten Veterans program;

- Post activities to include a variety of food and drink for our runners, walkers and their families: (Photos Hot Dogs, Old Country Buffet, Panera Bakery, Kefir, and many others).
