The Chicago Fire (3-0-1 10 pts.) now turn to a second-straight away test Sunday, May 6 (4:00 p.m. CT, 7:00 p.m. tape delay Comcast SportsNet), against the 2006 MLS Cup finalist New England Revolution (2-1-1 7 pts.) in a rematch of the 2006 Eastern Semifinal at Foxboro, Mass. The "Men in Red" are off to the hottest start in team history after Sunday's 1-0 win at Houston, continuing a three-game unbeaten streak against the Dynamo with a win at Robertson Stadium. New England will return to Gillette Stadium in Week Five coming off a 1-0 road win of its own last Sunday afternoon at FC Dallas. The Fire currently stand tied with New York for first in the Eastern Conference, just three points ahead of New England and one point up on the Kansas City Wizards.

Fire History @ Revolution

The Fire own an 18-17-6 overall record against the Revolution in MLS regular season, MLS Cup Playoff and U.S. Open Cup meetings, with both teams locked with 5-5-0 records in playoff games contested. Chicago also has a slight advantage at home, holding onto a 5-4-5 lead in regular season home games contested against New England.

Red-Hot Rolfe

Fire forward Chris Rolfe is in career-best form, producing two goals and three assists in Chicago's first four games to start the 2007 campaign. The University of Dayton grad has tallied at least a point in four-straight MLS games, beating his mark of three goals in the first four games played in 2006. In the 2007 season opener at TOYOTA PARK, Rolfe's pass to Justin Mapp led to a cross into the box for midfielder Logan Pause to deflect in for a 1-0 result. In Week 2, it was Rolfe's helper that freed forward Chad Barrett behind the Rapids backline for the game-tying goal in the 85th minute to grab a late one-pointer. On April 21, Rolfe's assist led to Barrett's game-tying goal in the 36th minute and the 24-year-old forward got his first tally of the 2007 season with a game-winning penalty kick goal in the 73rd minute. On Sunday Rolfe scored the game's only goal in the 60 th minute for a 1-0 win at Houston that kept Chicago tied atop both the Eastern Conference and league standings with 10 points.

Best. Start. Ever.

With the win on Sunday at Houston, the 2007 Chicago Fire squad is off to its finest start in franchise history. With a 3-0-1 record that's good enough for a share of first place in the Eastern Conference and the league, the "Men in Red" have gone undefeated throughout the entire month of April, a first for the club. Before this year's undefeated start, Chicago's previous best four games out of the gate came in 1999 when the Fire won three-straight on the road (3/20, 3/27, 4/3) before losing to the then-Dallas Burn 3-1 in penalty kicks in Game Four after a 0-0 stalemate in regulation.

One for the Road(s)

After the Fire's 1-0 win at Houston last Sunday, Chicago now has scored a goal a piece in each of the team's previous two road trips this season. The "Men in Red" also needed a late goal from Chad Barrett in the 85th minute on April 15 to salvage a 1-1 tie at Colorado in the Fire's first away match. Chicago will hope to improve upon its road scoring production, as the team will play its next two contests at New England (5/06) and in the Fire's first trip to Toronto FC at BMO Field (5/12).

Sarachan Adjusts for Injuries

After fielding the same starting 11 in Weeks 1 and 2, injuries to members of the Fire's first team line-up forced Head Coach Dave Sarachan to "shuffle the deck" as of late. Chicago's April 21 game against the Wizards saw the first start of the 2007 season for defender Dasan Robinson, who anchored the left back position while defender Gonzalo Segares pushed the left midfield attack instead of midfield stalwart Justin Mapp, who manned the opposite right midfield before pulling a left hamstring and walking himself off in the 55th minute. In Sunday's game at Houston, Sarachan opted for Senior International Thiago to man the right midfield while keeping the left-sided Robinson-Segares duo together in the 1-0 win. There was a sign of recovery on Sunday for midfielder Logan Pause, who came on to replace Thiago in the 84th minute for his first action since pulling a groin muscle in a 1-1 tie on April 15 at Colorado.

Rolfe's Stop-Start Shot up for Sierra Mist Goal of the Week Award

Fire forward Chris Rolfe scored the game's only goal in the 60th minute Sunday as the Fire defeated Houston Dynamo 1-0, the 24-year-old striker's second goal in four games played. The Kettering, Ohio native settled a long over-the-top pass from Gonzalo Segares just outside Houston's 18-yard box, took a few touches toward Dynamo defender Wade Barrett and made hit commit with a deft fake shot on goal before ripping a low left-footed strike that split three defenders and beat goalkeeper Pat Onstad for the eventual game-winner. Rolfe's skillful tally is one of five Sierra Mist Goal of the Week nominees for Week 4, and Fire fans can see the goal and vote for him online at www.mlsnet.com and www.chicago-fire.com.

Diego Gutierrez Receives White House Invite

Chicago Fire midfielder Diego Gutierrez has been honored for his work in the fight against malaria with an invitation to attend the White House last Wednesday, April 25 for a visit with President George W. Bush and the first lady in the Rose Garden. Wednesday was declared "Malaria Awareness Day" in the United States, as President Bush called on Americans to donate $10 for anti-malaria bed nets. Major League Soccer became involved in the battle against malaria through its community outreach initiative -- MLS W.O.R.K.S. -- collaborating with the Nothing But Nets and Malaria No More campaigns. Fire Reserves Takes Show to Foxborough

The Chicago Fire Reserves (0-1-1 1 pt.) will see action again on Sunday, May 6, taking on the New England Revolution Reserves (1-0-0 3 pts.) at 6:30 p.m. CT in the second of a two-game doubleheader at Gillette Stadium. The Chicago Fire Reserves had to settle for a 1-1 tie in its previous Reserve Division match-up on April 22 against the Kansas City Wizards Reserves at TOYOTA PARK. Youth International defender Osei Telesford provided the Fire's lone goal after finishing off a back-heel assist from forward Calen Carr. A handball in the box was called against the "Men in Red" in the second half, giving Wizards forward Ryan Pore the game-tying penalty kick goal.

UIC Exhibition Earns Over $6,000 for Chicago SCORES

The Chicago Fire earned a 4-0 exhibition win over the University of Illinois – Chicago through light steady rain at Flames Field in downtown Chicago, Ill. Fire forward Chad Barrett opened scoring in the 30th minute, followed by a brace from midfielder Floyd Franks in the 56th and 60th minutes. A UIC own goal in the 75 th minute would be the game's final tally. The exhibition match raised over six thousand dollars for the Chicago SCORES, a non-profit after school program serving the North Lawndale and Little Village communities.

Blanco Watch

Cuauhté moc Blanco, the Chicago Fire's Designated Player signing, is currently enjoying a two-game point-scoring streak with Mexican First Division side Club América as it winds down its 2007 Clausura campaign. This past Sunday Blanco scored the game-tying goal in the 34th minute in a 2-1 América win over Monarcas Morelia, a Chicago Fire partner club. In Week 16 "Temo" started and played the full 90 minutes for América, registering an assist (Ricardo Rojas, 12') for the game's only goal in a 1-0 win over Atlante. Blanco will become an official member of the "Men in Red" on July 1 and will be eligible to play that day in Chicago's match-up with the Rapids at TOYOTA PARK (6:00 p.m. CT, Comcast SportsNet).
