Fire Reserves record 2-2 tie at Toronto
TORONTO (May 12) – Forward Calen Carr recorded a goal and assist to led the Chicago Fire Reserves to a 2-2 draw against the Toronto FC Reserves in a Major League Soccer Reserve Division game held at BMO Field. The contest followed the first-team match up between the squads.
The Reserves’ leading scorer, Carr found Pascal Bedrossian open in the 32 minute to knot the game at 1-1, then gave the Fire a brief second half lead in the 57th minute. Gathering a loose ball in the box, Carr whirled and one-touched a shot from 12-yards out past goalkeeper Srdjan Djekanovic.
Toronto (0-1-2) preserved a tie on Marco Reda’s goal scored with 18 minutes left in regulation.
The Chicago Fire Reserves (0-2-2) are off until June 4 when they host the Columbus Crew Reserves at TOYOTA PARK.
Notes:
· Nick Nobel replaced starter Jon Busch in the second half and made two solid saves to keep the Fire in contention.
· Ivan Guerrero saw 70 minutes of action after coming off the bench for the first team earlier in the day.
· The four goals marked the Fire Reserves’ highest scoring game of the season.
