Calgary, Alberta—Nate Price drilled a dramatic two-out, two-run home run to right field in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Gary SouthShore RailCats to a come-from-behind 8-7 victory over the Calgary Vipers on Wednesday night. The win lifted the RailCats record to 10-3 and marked their eighth comeback win this season.

Just as they did on Tuesday, the RailCats scored three runs in the ninth inning to key their victory. On Tuesday, the RailCats tied the game with three in the ninth, and on Wednesday, they took a one-run lead before reliever Tony Cogan pitched a perfect bottom of the ninth for the save.

Trailing 7-5 to start the top of the ninth inning, Gary's Jose Yepez lined a double to left to start the rally. Tanner Townsend followed with a bloop single to center to move Yepez to third. David Detienne grounded into a fielder's choice as Yepez scored to make it 7-6 with two outs. Price then connected on his first home run of the season and only the third for the RailCats as a team, a drive that just cleared the fence in right to give Gary an 8-7 lead.

Cogan, who suffered the loss in his last save opportunity on Monday in Edmonton after four straight successfully converted saves, nailed down the RailCats win without allowing a ball to leave the infield in the bottom of the ninth.

The night marked a rare poor performance by RailCats ace Willie Glen, who allowed nine hits, five walks, and five runs in four innings of work. Glen had allowed two runs or less in 14 of his last 15 starts.

Price led a 14 hit RailCats attack by going 3 for 5 with four runs batted in. Jay Pecci also had three hits while Townsend, Yepez, Steve Haake, and Dale Mueller had two hits apiece.

Chad Blackwell (2-0) pitched two scoreless innings of relief for the RailCats, who have won five of six games on their seven game Canadian road trip that will conclude on Thursday.

The RailCats meet Calgary again Thursday at 8:05 p.m. (CDT). Josh Habel (1-2, 4.02) will start for Gary against Calgary's Chris Shutt (1-0, 8.68). The RailCats return home to host Edmonton on Friday night at the Steel Yard.
